Spoken word track is RFKs solemn but hopeful outlook as he announces to a shocked crowd about the recent assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during his own presidential campaign. This is of course very soon before Bobby Kennedy's own tragic demise...
Not exactly party theme music... but my show used to be crazy dark, sad and self reflective (and it had more hip hop)...
The first time I heard "the longest shadows" (the first track on the album), I thought "I really found something here!". Having never heard of High Places before, I was pleased to find another album or two that are also really rad. You can find them on the Thrill Jockey label.
"Underwear" is more of a "greatest hit" than you can possibly know. When the beat started, I head-butted the mic in the on-air booth. BAM! Now, my forehead is squishy.
Being a lover of the Mush label, I gotta wonder why I seemed to be the only WMBR DJ playing this album while is was in the new music section. Really, guys? Loden is DOPE. I guess its one of those things that make Radio Ninja ... well... Radio Ninja.
This would go really well with Amon Tobin's track Bridge, but I'd already played AT twice on this show... and we can't have a 1998 release mixed in with the 2010 set ::gasp::
If I could only add one track from the Warp label to represent awesomeness for 2010, "See Waves" would be it. "The Hundred in the Hands" is another group new to me that should not go unmentioned. If I had a little more airtime, they would have made the cut.

Other recording artists that did not appear for the photograph are Trentmoeller, to Rococo Rot, The Books, Bonobo's Black Sands album featuring Andreya Triana, She + Him single of a "Fools Rush In" remake, Sage Francis' release "Li(f)e", Pigeon John on the Quannum Projects label and much more that I'm forgetting.
