In Memorium Rebroadcast of the Michael Brewer (Brewer & Shipley) Interview Show [This is a rebroadcast from 8/21/2018, in tribute to Mike Brewer on his passing at age 80 on December 17.] A couple of Midwestern hippies named Michael Brewer and Tom Shipley began releasing albums of electric folk rock music in 1968, and struck paydirt in 1970 with their LP "Tarkio," boasting a Top 10 anthem for stoners everywhere known as "One Toke Over the Line." This got them on Nixon's Enemies list, of which they are justifiably proud. They attracted great musicians like Jerry Garcia, Michael Bloomfield, and John Cipollina to play on their albums, and have a boatload of other fine songs to their name. Michael Brewer gives the back story.
