Bandstarted out as the Kingbees in suburban NJ, but had to quickly change their name when a band called King Bees out of NY released a single on RCA. At some point they were introduced to Carol King & Gerry Goffin who agreed to write songs for them & promote them, but things never really got off the ground & the band only put out a few singles.
A British band that was supposed to be the UK answer to the Monkees, British RCA put the group together.They had way more success in Europe than the UK. this track was recorded in 1969 - but it’s not on their LP.
Band from California, aka Dragonfly. This is a slightly different& shorter version of the song which appears on their 1968 album also on Megaphone. The Band never palyed under the name "Dragonfly" - they had intended that as the album title...
Originally from Cambridge, Mass, they had 2 different lineups, from 1966-68, then slightly different personnel from 1970-73. Only recorded this one album. In June 1971 they played a concert at the Hatch shell opening for the NY Rock n roll ensemble, and 50,000 people attended. According to the the band’s official website, some of the members met as grad students at MIT!
Band was part of the Canterbury UK prog rock scene, only around for 1 year & recorded only this one album. Formed by musicians Steve Hillage (better known as a member of Uriel, Arzachel & Gong, and also a frequent collaborator with The Orb), & Dave Stewart (was a member of Uriel, Egg, & later played in National Health, & Bruford).
