Formed in Washington, DC / * - except for a track on a compilation / Click on the Link above, left to read an article written by their drummer Dan Joseph, on his experience in the group and the DC scene at the time.
"MusicHound Rock: The Essential Album Guide" called the album 'a vitally important [document] of the rebirth of an entire genre of American music that, watered down and pasteurized, resurfaced later in everything from John Mellencamp's first post-Cougar releases to the entire current crop of alterna-twangers.'
Single: UK #28, Rock #78 (June 1984) // Bassist Fernando Saunders claimed years later, that Robert Quine (Guitarist - Richard Hell & the Voidoids, Lester Bangs, Mathews Sweet, many others) had composed the guitar riff for this song, while they were rehearsing. Upon hearing Quine's riff, Reed had written the lyrics, but he gave Quine no co-writing credit, thus cutting Quine out of royalties which added further strain to their relationship. He did not play on this album.
LP charts: US #209, but .... US College #1!! / The album title is taken from a "Three Stooges" short film. // Click on the Link above, left to view the original Aussie single, with a color picture sleeve.
