The Palace of Tears is a former border crossing point at Friedrichstrasse Station in East Berlin and the only one still standing today -- However, for many Berliners, it was not a happy place, and was nicknamed the “Palace of Tears” due to the many emotional farewells between loved ones divided by the border.
