Piano Magic was a musical collective formed in the summer of 1996 by Glen Johnson, Dominic Chennell, and Dick Rance in London, England. Over the years the quiet bedroom project expanded and changed as Johnson enlisted the help of friends, acquaintances, and moonlighters from other bands.

Desenne is a Venezuelan cellist and composer, whose composition style fuses elements from native Latin American and European music. He says about this composition...here the worm performs a solo accompanied by an Afro-Cuban band in a Saharian cartoon setting. The dialogue between the worm and the band grows into a frenetic and sinuous belly dance. The climax smooths into a meditation, after a few spasms. A salsoso coda reminds us of the dance of life and death, in which the worm acts as the recycling force.In memoriam Alegría Beracasa>
